Thomas Yee's new opera tells the story of Eva Mozes Kor, a survivor of medical experimentation at Auschwitz under Dr. Josef Mengele. To the surprise of many, at Auschwitz fifty years later, Eva read a declaration of forgiveness for all of her captors, and has promoted a message of forgiveness and healing through her speaking and Holocaust Museum ever since.
